Piha keeps calling me, and I can't help by answer

The view from Mum and Dad’s place at Piha is pretty impressive. In fact, it makes Lion Rock look like you could almost reach out and touch it.

It’s not that they are super close to the beach, it’s just the perspective. Piha is split by Lion Rock into two beaches. South Piha, where we hang out, is the smaller of the two. North Piha is a far longer stretch, and even has caves at the end, though they’re a little bit full of sand nowadays.

I took a photo from the deck at Mum and Dad’s one day some years ago, and that photo is now a quilled image (minus a power pole that drives my Mum nuts!).

This image of Piha took more than 120 hours to complete, it is smaller than an A4 piece of paper, and some of the pieces were so small, I had to place them with a pin – tweezers were too clunky for the job!

It is now available in a limited number of art prints too, which I could not be more pleased with. I am so proud of this image, and I am so excited to share it with you!

A special piece of your own is but a click away! If you’re keen on a McQuilled custom piece, then just click here. Give me a few bits of info and I can come up with a plan with you!
